Bridgewater Local Among Somerset County Photo Contest Winners
Thom Horvath of Bridgewater was among those awarded in the 2020 "Show us Somerset County Through Your Camera Lens" Contest.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Bridgewater local was among the winning entries in the 2020 "Show us Somerset County Through Your Camera Lens" Photo Contest.
Thom Horvath of Bridgewater placed second for his"Neshanic VFD Wave Parade at White Oak Park" in the Creativity During COVID-19 category.
The COVID category was created this past year "to reflect the ways residents dealt with the stress of the pandemic," according to Commissioner Melonie Marano, liaison to the Cultural & Heritage Commission.

Hugh McCann of Franklin was selected as the overall winner for his "Van Liew-Suydam House" entry.
"There are so many remarkable photographers in Somerset County that we always look forward to seeing the images people submit for our annual photo contest. There were so many beautiful entries in 2020 that it was really difficult to narrow it down to only a few winners," said Marano.

- Hugh McCann of Franklin was selected as the overall winner for his "Van Liew-Suydam House" entry.
COMMUNITY
- First Place – Hugh McCann of Franklin for St. Mathias Carnival
- Second Place – Gabrielle Dragan of Montgomery for Flags for Heroes at Montgomery High School
HISTORY
- First place – Hugh McCann of Franklin for Van Liew-Suydam House
- Second place – Steve McIntyre of North Plainfield for Sunrise at Washington Rock Park
RECREATION OPPORTUNITY
- First place – Cristina Forte of Franklin for Kayaking Fun on D&R Canal
- Second place – Judith Sedlak of Bernards for Bike Race in Basking Ridge
NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
- First place – Brianna Titus of Warren for Horses at Lord Stirling Stable
- Second place – Allison Thomas of Manville for Sunrise Deer at Kupper Airport
CREATIVITY DURING COVID-19
- First place (Tied) – Cristina Forte of Franklin for Covid Nature Walks; and Judith Sedlak of Bernards for Leaf Rose
- Second place – Thom Horvath of Bridgewater for Neshanic VFD Wave Parade at White Oak Park
A panel of judges selected first- and second-place winners in each of five themes: Community, History, Natural Environment, Recreational Opportunities and Creativity During COVID-19
Photographers with winning entries will receive a $50 honorarium. The overall contest winner will receive a $100 honorarium, in lieu of a $50 category honorarium.
