Bridgewater Local, Somerville Salon Host Toy, Food Drive

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater local Christina "U-Niqe" Castellanos and the Hairitage Hair Lounge in Somerville are hosting a food and toy drive to help the families and kids in need at the Agape House in Somerville.

"I know how hard it can be for these families who struggle to provide for their children while trying to get on their feet," Castellanos said. "As a community and as human beings I know we can do more to help put a smile on the faces of these children."

Those wishing to help will be assigned to sponsor one of the more than 32 children at Agape House to donate to their wish list. Donors should gift wrap the items and write the name of the child who it is for on it.

They are also collecting non-perishable items and items for the babies such as food, wipes, lotions, books and more.

Everything can be dropped off at Hairitage Hair Lounge at 131 Gaston Ave. in Somerville on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Saturday, Nov. 16 through Dec. 17.

"Thank you all in advance for your generosity. I know how much it will mean to these families who are struggling right now to have the basic necessities that people take for granted on a daily basis," Castellanos said.
