Former Somerset Co. Football Standout Killed In Union Co. Shooting: Officials
Tips leading to an indictment and conviction in Jameer Outsey's death could be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.
ELIZABETH, NJ — Officials said a 27-year-old Bridgewater man died after a shooting in Elizabeth over the weekend, and are asking the public for any tips as they investigate his death as a homicide.
The victim, Jameer Outsey of Bridgewater, is a 2014 graduate of Franklin Township High School who went on to play Division I college football.
Elizabeth Police found Outsey with a gunshot wound in the early hours of Aug. 12, near the area of North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office. Someone had called emergency services to report he had been wounded, according to officials.

First responders transported Outsey to a local hospital. Doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead, according to officials.
Outsey signed for the Iowa Hawkeyes after graduating from Franklin Township High School and then transferred to the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, according to his senior year football profile.

The Union County Prosecutor's Office is urging anyone with information on the shooting to contact Prosecutor’s Office Sergeant Filipe Afonso at 908-965-3807, Detective Lewis King at 908-337-0807, or Elizabeth Police Department Detective John Londono at 908-764-6392.
