Bridgewater Matthew Moench Sworn In As Mayor

Moench was sworn into his first four-year term as mayor after previously serving as Council President.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Republican Matthew Moench was sworn in as the new mayor of Bridgewater during the township's reorganization meeting on Wednesday. Michael Kirsch and Timothy Ring were both also sworn in as councilmen. All three were elected following the November election.

Moench was sworn into his first four-year term as mayor after previously serving as Council President. Kirsch and Ring were both sworn into the two four-year council seats.

During the meeting, Moench also announced the following appointments:

  • Michael Pappas as Director of Department of Administration
  • Natasha Turchan as Director of the Department of Finance/Chief Financial Officer
  • Christine Madrid as Director of Department of Human Services
  • Rose Witt, QPA as Public Agency Compliance Officer
  • Michael Pappas as Registrar of Vital Statistics
  • Christopher M. Corsini, Esq. as Director of the Department of Law (Township Attorney) for a four year contract and hiring the law firm of Savo, Schalk, Cillespie, O'Grodnick & Fisher for an amount not to exceed $460,000 for 2020.
  • Thomas Genova as Acting Director of Municipal Services
  • William Burr as Acting Township Engineer
  • Acting Chief Paul Payne as Acting Director of the Police Department and Acting Chief of Police
  • Hiring Chief Municipal Prosecutor Carl A. Taylor Esq. for no more than $80,000
  • Scarlett Doyle as Township Planner for $60,000 for 2020
  • Hiring Cleary, Giacobbe, Alfiere & Jacobs LLC, Florio, Perucci, Steinhardt & Cappelli, LLC and Ruderman & Roth LLC as the Labor Counsel for 2020
