Bridgewater Pet Lover To Celebrate 2 Years Of Rescuing Cats

Edie Hogan's nonprofit, Bernie's Buddies, has adopted out 38 cats and kittens in the first 22 months of operation.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — Lifelong cat lover and Bridgewater resident Edie Hogan will be celebrating two years of rescuing kitty cats on Saturday.

Hogan launched her 501(c)3 Bernie's Buddies Cat Rescue in May 2021. Named after one of her fosters, Hogan launched the rescue group because she saw other nearby shelters were having trouble taking in all of the rescues. Hogan wanted to help in her own way to foster and adopt as many cats as she can. Read More: Bridgewater Pet Lover Launches New Cat Rescue Group

"We are thrilled to announce we have adopted out 38 cats and kittens in our first 22 months of operation," said Hogan. "Right now we have four litters of kittens in our foster homes, they're not old enough yet for adoption. So we will have two alumni at our second birthday party: Evie and Chewy - who will be our Kitty Ambassadors."
