Bridgewater-Raritan High School Senior Honored As All-American In Girls' Soccer

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A ceremony fit for an All-American.

The ceremony was the United Soccer Coaches All-American event, where Reese Reimann of the Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls’ soccer team rubbed elbows with the best soccer players in the country.

Reimann, a senior at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, was honored at the ceremony held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

The affair was included during the National Coaches Association convention in Philadelphia.

Sean Casey, the Head Coach of Bridgewater-Raritan’s girls’ soccer team, took in the glamor along with his star player and her family in Philadelphia.

"The ceremony was attended by high school and college All-Americans from all levels, both male and female. Players attended from all over the country," Casey said. "Reese was presented her All-American certificate by the Association President, Paul Payne, and Honorary All-American, Oguchi Onyewu, who is a former US Men's National Team Player."

"In addition to her certificate, the association presented her with several gifts, including a medal, an All-American scarf, and a pullover," Casey said.

The All-American honor capped a brilliant career that featured prestigious awards.

During her four years on the Bridgewater-Raritan varsity team, she was selected as the North Jersey, Section 2 Player of the Year and was also voted into the Top 20 players in the state for three seasons. She was also named team MVP three times and received Skyland Conference All-Division First Team honors for three seasons.

Reimann ended her illustrious career with 52 goals and 25 assists from her center midfield position.

She guided Bridgewater-Raritan to the North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 state sectional tournament final during the past two seasons and to a 14-9 record this past fall.

Reimann, who will continue her career at the University of Delaware this fall, shared her feelings about her elite recognition.

"To me, being an All-American is a great honor because so many outstanding athletes have received this recognition before me, and I am proud to stand alongside them," Reimann said. "It represents the reward of hard work and dedication, and with the help of my coaches, teammates, and supporters, I was able to achieve this honor."

Casey praised his All-American both for her performance and her personality.

"The coaching staff is so proud of Reese's accomplishments, and her being named a High School All-American is an appropriate way for her to cap off her high school career," Casey said. "Even after all her deserved accolades, Reese remains as humble and as hardworking as when we met her four years ago. She has represented our school and program so well."
