Bridgewater-Raritan Students Win 78 Awards On National Latin Exam
Three Bridgewater-Raritan High School students earned perfect scores on the National Latin Exam this year.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan High School students posted strong results on this year’s National Latin Exam, with 78 awards earned by 97 students who took the test, according to Elizabeth Farshtey, a World Language Teacher and Advisor with Lucinda Jaffe for the Latin Honor Society at the school.
Farshtey reported that 93,159 students took the exam in March this year, representing all 50 states and 26 other countries. Among the Bridgewater-Raritan students who participated, three earned perfect scores: Meera Buddhikot, Harshit Kondle and Lucia Bolle.
"It is Lucia's third perfect score in a row. Only around one percent of students taking the exam earn a perfect score," Farshtey revealed.

Farshtey also reported that three seniors won book awards from the National Junior Classical League for having won gold medals four years in a row.
The students were Ronak Hunashimarad, Samuel Porter and Ethan Wei.

"Only 307 students internationally won this award," Farshtey said.
The results put Bridgewater-Raritan students among a much larger group of Latin students who tested this spring across the United States and abroad.
The exam was given in March, according to Farshtey, and included participants from schools in every state as well as 26 other countries.
The local honors included both top individual scores and longer-term recognition tied to repeated success on the exam.
In Lucia Bolle’s case, Farshtey said the perfect score marked a third straight year of earning that distinction.
For the three seniors who received National Junior Classical League book awards, the recognition came after four years of gold medals.
