Bridgewater Road Improvement Plan To Be Discussed At Town Hall Meeting

The town hall meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Shimon & Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Two years since Bridgewater launched its road improvement plan, 87 roads or 24.62 miles of roadway have been reconstructed or preserved in the township.

While this is an ongoing plan, Mayor Matthew Moench announced he is hosting a Q&A Town Hall together with Councilman Michael Kirsh at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Shimon & Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center, 775 Talamini Road.

"As important as hard data is, it’s also incredibly important to hear from the residents of Bridgewater," said Moench. "I have always strived to make transparent government a hallmark of my administration and it’s an honor to partner with a fixture of our community like the JCC to bring that transparency to an open forum and hear what’s on the minds of our residents."

The Q&A town hall will give residents the opportunity to ask questions or express their opinions on the road plan.

"I speak for the entire Council when I say that we truly care about all the questions and concerns from Bridgewater residents," said Kirsh. "It’s our job to be the help desk for Bridgewater residents. I promise that we will make sure that all inquiries are addressed and answered in a timely manner."

The 87 roads tackled so far in 2020 and 2021 are part of the township's plan that Moench put into motion. The plan calls on the township to spend $8 million each year over a 5 year period to remedy the roadways after all of 600 township roadways were assessed and ranked from best to worst.
