Bridgewater’s Chuckie The Chocolate Lab Featured In Kid's Book

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater’s Chuckie the Chocolate Lab is an internet sensation. More than 5,000 people follow him on Facebook and Instagram to see his daily adventures.

Chuckie’s owner, Amy Jensen a Warren Township Middle School teacher, started posting about him after he had an eye procedure and was fitted with a cone. He smashed it to pieces and instantly became a social media hit.

With a worldwide following, Jensen used Chuckie as her inspiration to follow her dream of always wanting to write a children’s book.

“He is such a funny guy, he steals my shoes and always gives kisses all the time. He pushes to be the first one at the door. And even though he is a 70-pound lab he has to sit on your lap so you can’t see the TV,” Jensen said.

Chuckie is also best friends with the township mailman (you may have remembered Patch featured his special bond in the past. (See Related: This Bridgewater Pup's Special Bond With Mailman Will Make You Smile: Video).

His daily antics and his bond with the mailman are featured in Jensen’s book, “Chuckie Makes Mistakes (Sometimes).”

“It’s a picture book with sing songy type of words,” Jensen said. “It’s about good manners and things you are not supposed to do and things to do to be a better sibling and better doggie.”

And Jensen will also be making three appearance with book signings. Chuckie will be present at the Bridgewater and Somerville events.
