Bridgewater Teacher Contract Still Unsettled, More Mediation Set
Bridgewater-Raritan teachers have been working without a contract since July 1 due to an impasse over the issues of health care and salary.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan teachers will continue to work without a contract into the new year as both sides could not come to a resolution at the most recent mediation session.
The Bridgewater Education Association met with the Board of Education on Monday, Dec. 10 for several hours but were unable to come to a mutually acceptable resolution.
The issues of Chapter 78 contributions to health care and salary remain the main stumbling blocks, said Fred Skirbst, NJEA representative for the Bridgewater-Raritan staff.
