Bridgewater Teachers Have Tentative Contract Agreement
A tentative settlement was agreed on by teachers and board members at 4 a.m., Jan. 14

Bridgewater, NJ -- After meeting until the wee hours of the morning, a tentative contract agreement was settled on by the Bridgewater-Raritan Education Association and the Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education today.
The tentative settlement, pending ratification by both parties, was made at 4 a.m. Jan. 14. Details of the settlement have yet to be released.
“We thank all of our members, the community, and the boards team for their support and hard work in helping to achieve this outcome,” the BREA announced on its Facebook page.

The two parties have been meeting over the contract, that expired in June 2015, since February 2015.
Prior to the Jan. 13 meeting, hundreds had packed the board of education meetings over the past few months and had put up lawn signs in support of a teacher contract. Even the other night, hundreds of people came out in support of the BREA.

This was the first meeting held between the two parties using a mediator.
