Bridgewater Woman's Club Donates $1,000 For Wellness For Women Program
The roundtable discussion in collaboration with RWJ University Hospital Somerset focused on heart disease, stroke, and cancers in women.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Bridgewater Woman's Club(BWC) donated $1,000 to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset to be able to offer a free program, "Wellness for Women."
Fifty guests were in attendance for the roundtable discussion that focused on heart disease, stroke, and cancers in women.
The panel consisted of Kathleen Toomey, MD, oncologist and Medical Director for Steeplechase Cancer center; Rachana Kulkarni, MD, cardiologist, Laura Smith, BSN, RN, CNRN and Jennifer Lettieri, BSN, RN, CCRN, both nurses in the neuroscience program at the hospital.

During the discussion, guests learned about modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors in each of these areas, proactive lifestyle changes and other prevention strategies, signs and symptoms, treatments, and the related services that RWJ offers patients.
There was a robust question-and-answer session following the discussion. Each guest left with a complimentary boxed lunch, compliments of the BWC.

This program is just one example of the ways in which the Bridgewater Woman's Club strives to support women and families in our local community. They are a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs and the General Federation of Women's Clubs.
