Bridgewater's 2nd Annual Founders Day Planned For Saturday

The event will include an ice cream truck, kite building stations, popcorn, live music by the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Band and more.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater's Second Annual Founders Day is planned to be held this coming Saturday, however, the township is keeping an eye on the weather.

In case of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday.

"Founders Day is a new Bridgewater tradition designed to honor and immerse ourselves in this historical legacy," according to the township.

The event, which is a commemoration of Bridgewater’s founding all the way back in 1749, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bridgewater Municipal Complex 100 Commons Way.

Founders Day will feature a kite building station, historic reenactors, live music by the Bridgewater High School Band, an ice cream truck, popcorn/kettle corn, and more.

As of Thursday morning, there is a chance of showers on Saturday. The township will announce any changes to the date of the event on Friday, said Wells Winegar a Bridgewater spokesman.
