Business Partnership Sets Priorities for 2020

Having completed a successful 100 year anniversary celebration in 2019, the Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) is focusing on its 2020 priorities for the Somerset County business community.

Creating Vibrant Connections among public/private partners, members, and the business community at large has resulted in the Business Partnership being recognized as among the premier business advocacy organations in New Jersey.

Successes in 2019 include achievement of the highest number of members to date; new levels of collaboration with Somerset County government and community partners; receipt of an additional $128,000 3-year grant from NJ Division of Travel & Tourism; participated in the creation of the Diversity & Inclusion report; led a statewide effort to ensure job creation and private sector investment business assistance programs; and supported efforts to secure $122,000 in county funding to promote county amenities and experiencesto the local communities.

Each year, as part of the SCBP Strategic Plan, the organization defines priorities to advance the Culture of Collabortaion that leads to a prosperous and sustainable future for Somerset County business. The seven priorities for 2020 include:

• Advocate for better business solutions

• Provide best-in-class business resources

• Attract and retain a diverse talent pool

• Promote resiliency and sustainable environmental solutions

• Make Somerset County the healthiest in New Jersey

• Partner with educational and worksforce organizations

• Promote Somerset County amenities
