The event is sponsored by Somerville Alliance for Food Education (SAFE) in partnership with The Food Bank Network of Somerset County and PeopleCare Center for Nonprofits, with support from the Somerset County Regional Farmers Market. Wegmans is the lead sponsor of the Essentials Drive for guests.
“We encourage everyone in the community to donate, volunteer, or enjoy a meal at this summer event, now in its fifth year,” said Betty Krupka, SAFE president and one of the lead organizers. “We’re grateful to the many generous people who make it possible to serve our neighbors in need.”
Socks and hygiene items can be donated through SAFE’s Amazon wishlist at bit.ly/essentials-drive-2025. PayPal donations can be made at bit.ly/SAFE-Meal.
