RARITAN, NJ — Raritan Police are searching for a driver wanted for hitting two pedestrians and then driving away.

At about 7:30 p.m. on Friday two pedestrians were trying to cross Route 206 from East Somerset Street when they were hit by a car, Raritan Police said.

The car was turning right onto Route 206 South from East Somerset Street when it hit the pedestrians and then fled south on Route 206 towards Hillsborough, police said.

The witness described the car as a 2015 silver or grey Nissan Altima and the driver was described as a dark-skinned man with facial hair in his 20's to 30's, police said.

One pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.
