Car Pins Teen Underneath At Bridgewater Mall, Airlifted To Hospital

Bridgewater Police and Firefighters had to lift the vehicle off of the 17-year-old Watchung teen on Monday night.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A 17-year-old, who was hit and pinned underneath a car at the Bridgewater Commons Mall, was airlifted to a hospital for injuries on Monday night, said police.

On Monday just before 9 p.m., Bridgewater police went to the third level of the parking deck at the mall at 400 Commons Way for a pedestrian hit by a car, said Bridgewater Police Sgt. Daniel Hennessey.

Police found a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta with a pedestrian, later identified as a 17-year-old juvenile out of Watchung, pinned underneath, said Hennessey.

With the help of local firefighters, the car was lifted off of the teenager, who was alert and oriented. The teen was then airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick to be treated for injuries, said Hennessey.
