Catalytic Converter, Wallets Stolen In Bridgewater
Bridgewater Police are investigating after reports of catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles in the township in November.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A number of catalytic converters and wallets were recently stolen in the township, according to the Bridgewater Police blotter.
On Nov. 7: The manager of Pep Boys located at 735 Promenade Blvd. reported the theft of a catalytic converter from one of their company vehicles. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot directly behind the business.
On Nov. 9: A resident of Route 28 reported their vehicle had been burglarized. The victim
advised that their vehicle had been parked in their driveway and was unlocked. Someone entered the vehicle and removed a duffle bag that contained around $1,000 in designer shirts.

On Nov. 9: An employee of Marshalls located at 125 Promenade Boulevard reported that her wallet
had been stolen. The wallet was located in an unlocked locker at the time of the theft.
On Nov. 12 at around 2:38 p.m.: Kevin Alvarenga, 18, from Bound Brook was stopped for
shoplifting at Macy's, located at 400 Commons Way. Alvarenga stole store merchandise valued at $200. A complaint summons was completed and Alvarenga was released with a pending court appearance.

On Nov. 18: Bridgewater Acura reported the theft of three catalytic converters from vehicles. All three vehicles had been parked in their lot and the catalytic converters were removed in the overnight hours.
On Nov. 19 at 9:48 p.m.: Mohammed Rashid, 21, of Bridgewater, was arrested for DWI after
being involved in a motor vehicle crash on Route 28. Rashid was issued the following summonses: DWI, careless driving, failure to report a crash, and leaving the scene of a crash. He was released with a pending court appearance.
On Nov. 19: A victim reported that they had been shopping at Costco on Promenade Boulevard. While shopping, the victim had left her purse in the child seat portion of the shopping cart. When she was done the victim attempted to check out and found that her wallet had been stolen from her purse.
On Nov. 19: A victim reported that she had left her wallet on a bench while shopping at the
Bridgewater Commons Mall. The victim returned a short time later and found that her wallet was
missing.
On Nov. 27: A victim was at Tommy’s Tavern located at 550 Somerset Corporate Boulevard and reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse. The victim had been seated at a table and her purse was hanging over the back of her chair at the time of the theft.
