Champions: Bridgewater Baseball Team Wins Babe Ruth World Series

The Bridgewater 14U Panthers baseball team traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa to compete in the national championship.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Congrats Bridgewater! The Bridgewater 14U Panthers baseball team won the 2021 Babe Ruth World Series.

The team traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa where they competed in the national championship from Aug. 14 to 21.

The Bridgewater 14U Panthers baseball team advanced throughout the championship before defeating the Tallahassee/Leon (Florida) with a 6-5 win over eight innings.

Dozens of Bridgewater residents and Councilmen Filipe Pedroso, Allen Kurdyla, Howard Norgalis and Timothy Ring stood in the pouring rain on Sunday to welcome the champions home.

"Bridgewater couldn't be more proud of the team, their coach, and all of the wonderfully supportive parents and family who made this historic success possible," the township said.

The Bridgewater Police and Fire also rang out sirens and flashed lights to make the arrival even more special.
