Char To Open Casual Burger And Ice Cream Joint In Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The upscale modern Char Steakhouse in Raritan and Red Bank is opening a third location with a more casual feel right down the road on Route 202 in Bridgewater.

Char’s owner and manager Luciano Ingrao purchased the property where the former TD Bank used to be, located next to CVS Pharmacy near the Milltown Road intersection.

Ingrao is hoping to open “Char Burger and Creamery” in the late summer, late fall of this year.

The Bridgewater Township Planning Board approved the plans at its Tuesday night meeting.

“It will be a fast, casual burger place and is also going to have hard serve and soft serve ice cream and sundaes and milkshakes,” Ingrao said.

This location will be geared more towards families and will not have a liquor license.

In the back there will be benches and a small playground area for children to play.

“That particular area doesn’t have a burger location and I thought it would be something nice for local families,” Ingrao said. “And for all of the sports teams as well. It will be a nice area for kids to play out back while the husbands and wives have burgers and relax.”
