Chimney Rock Road Reopens Thursday After Flood Damage

Vosseller Avenue and parts of Route 22 remain closed as repairs continue following Tropical Storm Ida.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Good news for drivers. Chimney Rock Road has reopened as of Thursday in Bridgewater following flooding damage from Tropical Storm Ida.

While Chimney Rock Road is open, others remain closed including:

  • Portions of Route 22, east of Chimney Rock Road, remain closed overnight for repairs.
  • Vosseller Avenue is closed between Cedar Crest Road and Hillcrest Road for repairs. It will remain closed for 2 weeks. The detour is as follows:
    • All trucks 15 tons or more MUST use Washington Valley Rd to US 202/206 to US 22 to access Stavola's Quarry.
    • Any other vehicle should use Washington Valley Rd to Morning Glory Rd to North Mountain Ave.
