Congratulations to Rotary Club of Branchburg Scholarship Winners

The Rotary Club of Branchburg values education and supports academic achievements. To encourage the advancement of their educational endeavors and to honor the efforts of talented students the Rotary Club of Branchburg has awarded 11 scholarships to well deserving students heading to college in September 2019. These students are not only academically successful but also have contributed their time and energy to community service. The Scholarship Awards ceremony is the culmination of Rotary’s yearly efforts to support education.

Maria Arevalo-Mojica and Elizabeth DeFAszio from Raritan Valley Community College received a scholarship to further their education.

Award winners from Somerville High School were Michael Salvo and Erin Kyle. Caroline Brawley and Justin Lordi were the winners from Immaculata High School. The Somerset Count Vocational Technical School winners were Robert Kramer and Allsion LaMont.

The John Pastre Scholarship winner was Emily Schworn. This award is in honor of John Pastore a former Rotarian and a former Superintendent in Branchburg, who tirelessly gave his time and efforts to the community.

The Ray Bateman Scholarship, award presented this year in honor of Ray Bateman, a longtime supporter of education and a strong advocate for community colleges. He had been actively involved in advancing Raritan Valley to one of the best rated community colleges in the country. The recipient of the Ray Bateman Scholarship for 2019 is Tamara Jones.

The all new Rotary Veterans Scholarship was awarded to Elizabeth Lescano and disabled Veteran from Raritan Valley Community College.
