Construction Worker Falls, Injured At Bound Brook Worksite

The 39-year-old construction worker fell onto scaffolding while working on the six-story building for The Rail at Bound Brook.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — A construction worker was injured after falling 1 to 15 feet onto scaffolding on Thursday, Bound Brook Police Chief Richard S. Colombaroni said.

On Sept. 5 at around 3:36 p.m., Bound Brook Police went to the construction site at 100 Hamilton Street(the site for The Rail at Bound Brook) for the report of a fall victim.

Officers found a 39-year-old construction worker who had fallen about 10 to 15 feet landing on an elevated section of scaffolding, said Colombaroni.

Officers, Bound Brook EMS and Robert Wood Johnson paramedics provided medical care.

After being extricated from scaffolding by the Bound Brook Fire Department, Bound Brook Rescue Squad and Finderne Fire Department, the victim was taken to a local trauma center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Bound Brook construction officials and representatives from OSHA are conducting the investigation.
