Woman Killed In Route 202 Hit-And-Run Crash In Somerset County
The highway remained closed for hours as the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office investigated on Monday.

RARITAN, NJ — A Bridgewater woman was killed in a crash, and the driver of a second SUV ran away from the scene on Monday, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
At 6:29 a.m., Raritan Police went to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 202 and First Avenue, where they found a Genesis SUV and an Acura SUV.
An investigation found that the driver of the Genesis went into the intersection, hitting the driver’s side of the Acura, said McDonald.

The driver of the Acura, a female resident of Bridgewater, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Genesis ran away and was later apprehended by Raritan Police before being taken to a nearby hospital for
treatment of minor injuries, said McDonald.

The Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, along with members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Raritan Police Department and Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office came to investigate.
The investigation is currently ongoing pending the results of
the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings.
