Cyber Security Breach Compromises Bridgewater-Raritan Parent, Student Information
A portion of individuals had some personally identifiable information, such as social security numbers and medical information impacted.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — For the second time in two years, a cyber security breach has compromised personally identifiable information for some Bridgewater-Raritan parents and students.

"Unfortunately, PowerSchool confirmed that the information belongs to some of Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District’s families and educators," said Beers.

The taken data primarily includes parent and student contact information with data elements such as name and address information.
"Across its customer base, PowerSchool determined that for a portion of individuals, some personally identifiable information (PII), such as social security numbers (SSN) and medical information, was impacted," said Beers.
Beers noted that the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District does not store the Social Security numbers of current students in PowerSchool.
"Protecting our students is something we take seriously. With PowerSchool’s help, more information and resources (including credit monitoring or identity protection services if applicable) will be provided to you as it becomes available," said Beers.
