Deep Roots Rising, A New Holistic Health Center, Opens In Somerville

Ruchi Jain gave up a full-time career as a pharmacist to offer more alternative and holistic approaches to healing others.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Deep Roots Rising, an alternative and holistic health center, has opened in Somerville and owner Ruchi Jain wants to welcome the community with her Open House on Sunday.

The Open House will be on Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 218 East Main St. in Somerville. The open house will offer Reiki, Gong Sound Baths demos, Astrology sessions, 15-minute Intuitive/Tarot Readings, free gifts, a raffle drawing, a sale of homemade candles and soaps, hot chocolate, cookies, and music.

Jain initially worked as a full-time pharmacist until 2018 when her brother died and her "life went upside down."

She had already trained in all of her services since she was healing from her own childhood trauma experiences.

"I am a first-generation Indian immigrant. I moved here as an infant and there were cultural issues," said Jain. "My brother's passing kind of made that passion stronger in me. I realized I should live my purpose which was not just being a pharmacist."

She immersed herself in alternative and holistic healing and launched her business from her home.

"I definitely feel like I am living my purpose," said Jain.

Over time she wanted to expand and to be able to share her knowledge of healing with others. That's when she found a space in Somerville to open her first brick-and-mortar location.

"The goal is to live fully in the present moment, mind, body, heart, and Soul —flowing with all of life and our emotions as it comes," said Jain. "We are spiritual beings living human lives on the Earth plane."

Her goal is to help everyone find their own path in life and "take off the stress of everyday life."

Jain describes a lot of her services as a type of therapy that goes beyond words and into your energy - such as with the Sound Gong Bath.

Seeing the change in her clients' faces gives Jain a sense of joy.

"They are calm and have a gentle smile on their face. They can breath better and they are more comfortable in their own body," said Jain.
