Deer Hunt To Begin in Somerset County Parks Wednesday
The hunt will be conducted at Washington Valley and Duke Island parks in Bridgewater on select dates in January and February.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Deer hunting will begin Wednesday in Bridgewater as part of the Somerset County Park Commission’s deer management program.
The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Shotgun Season will run through select dates in January and February in Washington Valley County Park and Duke Island Park.
Washington Valley County Park will be closed a total of six days including: Jan. 4, Jan. 11, Jan. 18, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 and Feb. 8.

Duke Island Park will be closed until noon for two days including: Jan. 17 and Feb. 7.
The deer count for the 2015-2016 season was 75 deer, according to Chris Poulsen, Director of Human Services in Bridgewater.
