Deer Hunt To Close Washington Valley Park Wednesday
Washington Valley County Park and Duke Island Park will be closed on select dates in January and February for the annual deer hunt.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Deer hunting will commence at Washington Valley County Park on Wednesday in Bridgewater as part of the Somerset County Park Commission’s deer management program.
The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Shotgun Season will run through select dates in January and February in Washington Valley County Park and Duke Island Park.
Washington Valley County Park will be closed a total of six days including: Jan. 4, Jan. 11, Jan. 18, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 and Feb. 8.

Duke Island Park will be closed until noon for two days including: Jan. 17 and Feb. 7.
The deer count for the 2015-2016 season was 75 deer, according to Chris Poulsen, Director of Human Services in Bridgewater.
