Did A Tornado Hit During New Jersey's Bad Storms on Monday? [VIDEO]
Storms ripped through New Jersey Monday, and many are still without power. But was it a tornado?
Did a tornado hit New Jersey in the middle of those bad storms on Monday? It turns out, only "straight-line winds" did damage to areas of New Jersey where thousands were still without power on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
NBC4 New York interviewed a family that was dealing with fallen trees that were strewn across their yard on Tuesday after a damaging storm ripped through their Bridgewater yard.
The family wondered if it was a tornado.

But Sarah Johnson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, said the damage in that Somerset County area was caused by straight-line winds.
Johnson said numerous trees were down in Hopewell in Mercer County, Old Bridge and Jamesburg in Middlesex County and in West Amwell and Readington in Hunterdon County.
