Do Not Drive Drunk, Bridgewater Police Warn Ahead Of Super Bowl Weekend

Bridgewater Police is also adding extra patrols on Sunday night to "help ensure the safety of our community."

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The big game weekend is here, and the Bridgewater Township Police Department is warning football fans and Super Bowl partygoers about the dangers of impaired driving and sharing safer options to get home.

"While we hope everyone enjoys the game, we ask that you make responsible choices before celebrating," said police. "If you plan on drinking, please do not drive. Driving under the influence puts you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk."

  • Designate a sober driver ahead of time
  • Use a rideshare service
  • Call a taxi
  • Stay overnight with friends or family
  • Host the gathering and plan to stay put

Bridgewater will also have extra patrols on duty throughout the Township on Sunday night "to help ensure the safety of our community."

"Plan ahead, make smart decisions, and help us keep everyone safe. Enjoy the game responsibly," said the police.
