Johnny McIntyre of Somerville made a romantic connection with Amy in the new season of Netflix's Love is Blind. (Spoilers Alert)

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Somerville native and high school graduate Johnny McIntyre met the love of his life on the new season of Netflix's hit reality show "Love is Blind."
McIntyre, 28, made a strong connection with Amy Cortez, 28, who is Puerto Rican. They got engaged in the pods and the only hiccup the couple faced throughout the season was McIntyre's fear of having children and Cortez not taking birth control.
The two overcame this hurdle and both said 'I do' and got hitched. Their wedding ceremony and reception were seen on the latest episode released on Wednesday.

As an account executive, McIntyre said he tried to find "the one" through dating apps, in grocery stores, and on blind dates, according to his Netflix description.
"But he’s had trouble forming anything beyond a 'really surface level' connection, so he’s coming to Love Is Blind to tune out all other distractions and dig deep," according to Netflix.
McIntyre is an avid snowboarder who hits the mountains almost every weekend and has dreams of learning how to fly a plane, according to Netflix.
