Dog Days of Summer Night out for Somerset Regional Animal Shelter Pets

Cuteness overload was the theme of the evening at the Sunrise Senior Living Community of Bridgewater, NJ on Thursday July 18th. The staff at Sunrise love seeing the joy that pets bring to their residents – and what better way to share in the festivities than with the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter at their Dog Days of Summer BBQ!

Shelter dogs Emma and Rusty along with kittens Snowcone and Marble got some love, attention, and an extra treat or two as attendees spent time visiting with them. They were so well behaved and perfect guests, greeting residents and their family members throughout the evening.

The generosity of the Sunrise residents, guests, and all of the staff was overwhelming. Along with great food and live music at the pet-friendly event, there was a donation table of baskets filled to the brim with pet food, toys, blankets, and goodies for the animals at SRAS.

The Sunrise communities’ own love of animals is evident in which they allow residents to bring their own beloved pets – a testament of how much they want residents to feel comfortable and at ease in their living environment.

With such positive feedback and success of the night, there’s already been discussions about doing something similar again. Whether it be highlighting the great pets SRAS has available for adoption, returning for pet meet and greets, or finding a way to connect SRAS pets with the Sunrise community members, it’s a win-win for all!
