Downed Tree, Wires Close Roadway Connecting Bridgewater And Basking Ridge

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A downed tree and wires have caused a roadway connecting Bridgewater to Basking Ridge to close.

Bridgewater Police sent out an alert around 11:30 a.m. on Friday reporting Long Road closed between Washington Valley Road and Bernards Township.

Widespread winds will gust 40-50 mph throughout Friday, hitting 50-60 mph in some areas, the National Weather Service says. The strongest gusts increase the potential for wind damage and power outages.

As of 11:45 a.m., JCP&L is currently reporting 39 customers without power in Somerset County with the majority in Hillsborough. PSE&G is reporting fewer than 5 customers are without power.
