Driver Falls Asleep In McDonald’s Drive-Thru, Charged With DWI: Bridgewater Police
A township resident also fell victim to a theft-by-deception scam where they lost $10,000, according to the Bridgewater Police blotter.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Shoplifting, fraud, DWI, and theft were all reported in the month of October, according to the Bridgewater Police blotter.
On Oct. 12 at around 1:15 p.m.: Korrie Keats, 38, from Plainfield, was stopped for shoplifting at Wegmans, located at 724 Route 202. Keats selected $554.87 in merchandise and exited the store without paying. A complaint summons was completed and Keats was released with a pending court appearance.
On Oct. 14: A township resident fell victim to a theft-by-deception scam. The victim had received a pop-up message on their computer that they needed to contact Microsoft due to a virus that had been detected on their computer. The victim was instructed to contact a 1-800 number. Upon calling the number the person on the phone instructed the victim to purchase $10,000 worth of gift cards and then supply them with the card numbers. The victim complied and later learned they had become the victim of a scam.

On Oct. 15: A patron of Trader Joe’s, located at 315 Promenade Boulevard, had their wallet stolen from their shopping cart. The victim advised that they left their wallet in the shopping cart while they selected several items from the display shelf. When they returned to the cart the wallet was missing.
On Oct. 16 at 12:16 a.m.: Kiair Laquuan Campbell, 23, of Bound Brook, was arrested for DWI after the police department received reports that he had fallen asleep behind the wheel while in the McDonald’s Drive-thru. Officers found Campbell stopped in the drive-thru of McDonalds located at 680 Promenade Boulevard. Campbell was issued the following summonses: DWI, Careless Driving and Unlicensed Driver. He was released with a pending court appearance.

On Oct. 19: Someone removed several skeleton Halloween decorations from a resident’s lawn on Bridgewater Avenue. This occurred sometime throughout the overnight hours.
On Oct. 19: A victim reported that their vehicle had been burglarized while parked in the lot of Top Corner Sports, located at 460 Milltown Road. The victim advised that they had only parked their vehicle in the lot for a couple of minutes and when they returned to their vehicle, their wallet was missing from the interior. The window of the vehicle had been left open while the vehicle was parked.
On Oct. 23 at around 1:49 p.m.: A 36-year-old woman from Somers Point was stopped for shoplifting at Nordstrom Rack, located at 362 Chimney Rock Road. She selected $145 worth of merchandise and exited the store without paying. A complaint summons was completed and Palitto was released with a pending court appearance.
On Oct. 26 at around 10:58 a.m.: A 58-year-old woman from Watchung was stopped for shoplifting at Nordstrom Rack, located at 362 Chimney Rock Road. Reiss selected $101 worth of merchandise and exited the store without paying. A complaint summons was completed and Reiss was released with a pending court appearance.
