Duke Island Park Closed For Hunting

Bridgewater, NJ -- The third day of the Somerset County Park Commission’s deer hunt takes place today at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater.

The first and second days were on Jan. 6 and 13 in Washington Valley park.

Shotgun hunting is what is permitted at the park and will take place from sunrise until a half hour after sunset, around 7 p.m.

The park will be closed during the hunt.

Parks included in the deer management program are Washington Valley Park and Duke Island Park.

Upcoming hunt days:

• Trails in Washington Valley Park will be closed Jan. 20, 27 and Feb. 3 and 10.
• Duke Island Park will be closed on Feb. 9.
