Emergency Bridge Repairs Prompt Route 22 Lane Closures In Somerset County
The left and center lanes on Route 22 are now closed Thursday to repair loose concrete under the bridge over the highway.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Emergency repairs for a bridge over Route 22 in Somerset County have prompted eastbound lanes on the highway to close on Thursday, announced New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials.
At 3 p.m. on July 27, the left and center lanes were closed to repair loose concrete under the bridge carrying Watchung Avenue over Route 22. Watchung Avenue will remain open.
The work is expected to go into the evening commute and be completed Thursday night, according to NJDOT.
