Christingle Worship Service

Christmas morning join us to celebrate the birth of Christ with a Christingle Worship Service.  What is a Christingle?, you ask.

Christingle actually means 'Christ Light' and celebrates the light of Jesus coming into the world.

There are several stories told of how the custom was started. There is an ancient Welsh service called a 'Celenig' where Christingles are used and the Moravian Church has held Christingle services for over 200 years.  In 1749 in a church in Germany the Bishop John de Watteville led the first Christingle worship among the Moravian congregation in Marienborn, Germany.  The Christingle service we enjoy today comes from the Wild Goose Worship Group of Iona, Scotland.
