Folk Dances of India

The Nrithyanjali Institute of Dance ensemble, led by Ramya Ramnarayan, will perform the ancient dance from Barata Natyan, which features a highly stylized technique. Dancers are adorned with exquisite costumes, jewelry, and make-up to resemble temple sculptures. Audience participation is not only welcome, it's encouraged!

Registration is required and begins October 7th. Nrithyanjali Institute of Dance is a premier dance institute in the tri-state area, dedicated to preserve, promote, and propagate classical Indian dance forms. In addition to presenting traditional themes and stories from Hindu mythology, Nrithyanjali Institute strives to educate varied audiences of all ages about dance style, using innovative teaching methods in workshops that are offered throughout the year.
