Fan of the Week: Jake Maggio

The 11-year old Maggio has been coming to games for almost his entire life.

Each week, Bridgewater Patch will feature one of the Panthers football team's biggest fans. We'll get to know each of them a little, and find out what makes them follow Bridgewater gridiron stars so closely. This week, we meet Jake Maggio.

Fan of the Week: Jake Maggio

  • Who's your favorite Panther: Linebacker/Running back Michael Pennella.
  • What has been your favorite Panther moment: Last year, when the team beat Hillsborough in the first game of the season. It was the first game after we lost 27 seniors and no one thought we could win.
  • What's your favorite concession food? The mozzarella sticks.
  • What's the best part of a game that gets the least attention: The field goals because we make a lot of them. It's a really important part of the game, especially in close games.
  • How long have you been attending games: This is the fourth year that I will be attending every game. I've been coming to games since I was 3 years old because my mom used to drag me to games. I was so young and I didn't even know what was happening.
  • Craziest thing you've ever done as a fan: Last year against Columbia in the state tournament I took my shirt off and ran onto the field. It was our first state playoff win in 16 years.
