FAR HILLS, NJ – Far Hills Country Day School (FHCDS) is alive with blooms and colorful artwork for Art in Bloom, its new celebration of the arts! On Wednesday, May 28 at 5:00 PM located at 697 Mine Brook Road/Route 202, Far Hills, NJ, FHCDS will open its doors to host a student and alumni exhibition that will include sculpture, prints, computer-generated artwork, drawing, photography, ceramics, painting and textile art. The exhibition starts in the Arcadium, extends outside to the courtyard and continues in the FHCDS art classrooms. Student art installations including murals and sculpture will fill the courtyard along with a plein-air ceramics demonstration. Other activities include an interactive banner, Winks (www.winks.com) stuffing table, massive studio day and pottery wheel demonstrations.
This event is open to all students, parents, alumni and the public. Alumni will share their artistic talents with current students and parents in the Café. Featured artists include: Miles Van Rensselaer (www.vanren.com), Sabina Forbes (www.sabinaforbes.com), Linda Quinn (www.lindaquinnpaintings.com) and Rachel Zentner (www.newleafceramics.com). Entertainment will be provided by alumni Jodi Miciak ’91 and her band Exit Row (www.exitrow.com). “We are so excited to have this new celebration of the arts. It is so important students work with parents and the larger Far Hills community,” commented Kris Ward, FHCDS art teacher.
