Finderne Avenue Bridge To Be Under Construction For 9 Months
The bridge is located between Union Avenue (Route 28) and Foothill Road (near Route 22) in Bridgewater. Construction begins Tuesday.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Finderne Avenue bridge on Somerset County Route 633 in Bridgewater will be under construction for the next nine months starting Tuesday.
The bridge is located between Union Avenue (Route 28) and Foothill Road (near Route 22).
Reconstruction will be done in three stages. The first stage, which will last three months will begin on Tuesday.

It will include having traffic control at the center portion of Finderne Avenue to allow for the demolition and replacement of the center portion of the existing bridge. Through traffic northbound and southbound will be able to use the right lanes in each direction.
About once a month, a full road closure at the bridge with a posted detour will be put in place during off-peak daytime hours between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Underground utility relocations at and adjacent to the project limits also will be performed during construction.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
The Somerset County Engineering Division will provide updates during construction about future staged traffic shifts and off-peak daytime detour schedules.
