The construction of the home, such as having a slate roof, and also heavy winds caused extinguishing the fire to take longer, said Rose.

The fire was upgraded to a 2-alarm with firefighters coming from all over the area to help including Martinsville, Green Knoll, North Branch, Finderne, Bound Brook, Liberty Corner, Warren, Far Hills Bedminster, Somerset County and paramedics from Somerville, Martinsville, and Bradley Gardens and Bridgewater Police were among those to respond to the home at 7 Krams Trail.

The fire is not suspicious in nature and remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Fire Officials.
