First Christmas Tree Lighting Set In Bridgewater
A Christmas tree was planted in the courtyard of the Bridgewater Municipal Complex. Residents can watch the lighting virtually online.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Christmas tree was planted in the courtyard of the Bridgewater Municipal Complex allowing the township to host its first Christmas Tree lighting on Friday.
The Norwegian Spruce came from the Camp Cromwell property and the equipment and labor were donated from Bridgewater resident and owner of High Tech Landscaping, Paul Cernuto.
The township's first Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at the Municipal Complex at 6 p.m. Due to State of New Jersey COVID-19 directives, the township limited attendees to 150. Registration for the event has already filled up, but the township will also be live streaming the tree lighting on facebook.com/BridgewaterTwp.

"While I am disappointed that we cannot have more of our residents join us in person, my hope is that this will become a large and meaningful annual community event for years to come," said Mayor Matthew Moench.
A Menorah Lighting Ceremony is also being planned for Hanukkah the following week. It will likely be virtual as Gov. Phil Murphy drastically limits the maximum number of people who can gather outside to 25. Read More: Gov. Murphy Limits Outdoor Gatherings To 25; Halts Indoor Sports
