First Snow Of The Season Hits NJ Forecast
Temperatures are dropping below freezing just as another storm front heads to the region this week.
NEW JERSEY — Old man winter has arrived a bit early with freezing temperatures in the forecast and the potential for the first snow of the season in parts of New Jersey.
Rain is expected to arrive on Tuesday night and will continue into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service(NWS).
While most areas of the Garden State will get rain, parts of northwest New Jersey may see a wintery mix, according to NWS.

"We're keeping an eye on the Tuesday night system forecast to impact our region with a soaking rain and some wintry precip for the Poconos," said US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly.

The potential for any snowfall accumulation was more likely for the Pennsylvania or southern Poconos region, according to Accuweather.
"Unseasonably cold conditions will continue for the center of the country through the eastern U.S. this week, setting the stage for potential wintry weather," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Nicole LoBiondo.

What's more certain is the cold front. Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 28 are possible in the area beginning on Monday night.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.
Tuesday: A chance of rain, mainly after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 47. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Rain, mainly after 8pm. Low around 36. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Wednesday: Rain, mainly before 8am. High near 50. Northeast wind around 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27.
