Flood Warning Extended In Somerset County Following Excessive Rainfall
Excessive rainfall overnight in Somerset County has caused localized flooding and closures on Monday.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — A flood warning issued by the National Weather Service(NWS) has been extended in Somerset County on Monday following excessive rainfall overnight in the area.
The National Weather Service(NWS) initially issued a flood warning through 9:30 a.m. in Somerset County on Dec. 11. It has since been extended through 6:30 p.m.
Flooded Rivers
As of 12 p.m. the North Branch River at South Branch (border of Bridgewater and Branchburg) is currently at 9 feet in the moderate flooding stage. Flood stage is 8 feet.

The North Branch River near Raritan (by Route 202) has since dropped below flooding.
The Millstone River at Griggstown in Montgomery has risen to 11.07 feet in the minor flooding stage.

The Lamington (Black) River at Burnt Mills in Bedminster has since dropped below flooding.

- Southside Avenue in Bridgewater
- Old York Road Bridge between Bridgewater and Branchburg (REOPENED)
- River Road from Roycefield Road to Basilone Bridge in Raritan
- River Road at Riverside Drive in Hillsborough
- Blackpoint Road Bridge in Hillsborough
Drivers should never try to drive through flooded waters. Turn around, don't drown.

Here is a look at the weather outlook for the remainder of Monday before it clears up for Tuesday.
Monday: Cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 45. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 44. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. West wind around 5 mph.
