Food Tours Coming To Downtown Somerville

The first walking tour is Saturday, Nov. 3 where you stop at Somerville restaurants to sample food and drink and can talk to chefs.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Jenna Intersimone, a Somerville resident, has partnered with Jersey Girls Food Tours to bring a recurring food tour to downtown Somerville. The first tour is Saturday, Nov. 3.

Jersey Girls Food Tours is a Jersey-City based company which hosts restaurant tours in Jersey City, Red Bank, Princeton and Rutherford.

Monthly public tours, with private tour options also available, will be hosted for groups of 10 to 20 people which will take them on an intimate, exclusive culinary journey to four to five Somerville restaurants – all within walking distance of one another – for samplings of food and drink as well as conversations with chefs and owners.

The first tour, which will have an international theme, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. and take guests to Café Picasso, Kuay Tiew Noodles, Ai Sushi, Verve and Division Café and will feature wine pairings from Discover Wine for $89 per person.

In coming months, expect to see other tour themes, including a bar-focused tour featuring some of the best spots for a drink in Somerville. Tours in Somerville will be scheduled once a month.

“The restaurant scene in downtown Somerville is a true hidden gem, featuring tons of amazing mom and pop eateries that make deciding on your dinner spot a difficult choice,” said Intersimone. “Bringing a food tour here was a no-brainer, and we’re excited to give our guests a sample of this ever-growing local culinary scene.”
