Owner Loring Nagle, a Somerset County resident, is a certified yoga instructor and felt Somerville was a “friendly, centrally located town” to open her first studio.

Nagle first got into yoga as a way to balance her weight lifting and kickboxing routine.

“Soon enough the asanas (poses), breathing (pranayama) and meditation practice convinced my mind, body and breath there was no other way to be,” Nagle said. “The practice as a whole gives me a great sense of peace.”

Nagle has since been certified and registered as an adult and children’s yoga teacher. In the warmer months she also does StandUp PaddleYoga and World Paddle Association.

“Yoga is user friendly,” Nagle said. “You do not have to be flexible to practice. The practice of yoga invites you to become flexible in body and mind.”

There will be four sessions of free yoga offered during the grand opening.

  • Mixed Level Yoga: 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Family Yoga: 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Gentle Yoga: 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
  • Beginner’s Yoga: 2 to 3 p.m.
