Grocery Gift Card Collection For Domestic Violence Survivors, Kids In Somerset County

Over 95 percent of our clients have experienced Intimate Partner Violence that includes financial abuse, according to Safe+Sound Somerset.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A special collection of grocery gift cards for domestic violence survivors and their children is being held by Safe+Sound Somerset as their supply is running low.

"Over 95 percent of our clients have experienced Intimate Partner Violence that includes financial abuse, which impacts a survivor's ability to provide for themselves and their children. As a result, we provide most clients with gift cards for food and other basic necessities," said the nonprofit organization.

Locals are asked to donate a gift card for Shop-Rite, Walmart, Target, or other local grocery stores that the organization can share with their clients. Gift cards of $25 are suggested, but any amount will be accepted.
