Girl Scouts Collecting Thanksgiving Meals For Bridgewater-Raritan Families

Girl Scout Troop 61069 is seeking donations from the community to help support local families.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Girl Scout Troop 61069 will be coordinating a Thanksgiving meal collection for Bridgewater-Raritan families in need.

Their goal is to support as many families in as many of the Bridgewater-Raritan schools as possible.

Some suggestions of what to include in the meal:

  • Stuffing mix
  • Gravy
  • Canned vegetables
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Sweet/white potatoes
  • Dessert (non-perishable)
  • Crackers
  • Croutons
  • Salad dressing
  • Decorative items (tablecloth, napkins, plates, etc)
  • $25 gift card needed to buy the perishable items (turkey, butter, milk, eggs, cheese, etc)

Residents are asked to consider helping the troop put together multiple generous meals to help families by signing up for a complete meal bag and/or monetary donation.

Items can be dropped off in bags and the troop will assemble them for families. Drop off the donations to Fry's house (225 Riverview Road, Bridgewater). Bins will be in the driveway for the collection between Nov. 4 to 17.

Last year, the troop was able to help about 100 families. This year, they would like to help even more.
