Girl Scouts, Eisenhower Students Collect Thanksgiving Baskets

The Thanksgiving baskets will be provided to families from Eisenhower School who are in need.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Girl Scout Troop 60881 is teaming up with Eisenhower Intermediate School to provide Thanksgiving baskets to families from Eisenhower School who are in need.

All Somerset County residents are invited to help with the baskets.

The administration from Eisenhower Intermediate School will be collecting baskets and working with families in need. The names of the specific families in need are confidential.

Baskets are to be dropped off on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Eisenhower Intermediate School, 791 Eisenhower Ave., Bridgewater.

Suggested Items to Create a Thanksgiving Basket:

  • Gift card for family to purchase all perishable items (turkey, butter, milk, eggs, cheese, etc.)
  • Box of crackers
  • Sweet or white potatoes
  • Stuffing
  • Vegetables if canned (or include in gift card)
  • Salad fixings (dressing, croutons, dried fruit) (Perishable items include in gift card)
  • Cranberry Sauce (canned)
  • Gravy (jarred or canned)
  • Dessert (If perishable include in gift card)
  • Decoration Items (Table cloth, holiday napkins)
  • Special Recipe that your family enjoys
